Golden Quilt

I love this MFT stitched quilt die, and today I've used it a little differently. I started by placing all the negative pieces on a sheet of plain cardstock that was covered all over with adhesive. I followed the pattern of the quilt die, but left spaces between the snippets and once it was all finished, I sprinkled gold embossing powder all over and heat set it. I see a few spots that need touching up, but it was a great way to use up all these negative pieces left over from a previous cutting where I used just the outline of the die. I used a Lawn Fawn stitched snowflake die - one in embossed gold and the other in vanilla and adhered them with a gold brad. The sentiment is a die from Kaisercraft and it was done on a gold heat-embossed scrap of white card.

I'm sharing this over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is "Christmas" and they're showcasing MFT products.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Carol

What a beautiful elegant card Carol! I love how you used your negative pieces for this card. Helps get them used up instead of throwing them away. I always love when I see this die being used, it always makes for a beautiful card. This die is on my wish list as well! lol Hugs, Brenda

Love, Love Love it! I bought this die (2 of 'em!) after seeing you use it. Still a NBUS. The extra will be blog candy one of these days. This looks very pretty with the tan & cream, The texture puts me in mind of the soft suede leather. A wonderful take on a Christmas card with the delicate snow stars in the center. You are the Queen of the fiddly pieces!! TFS & Hugs.

Well, duh...I didn't enlarge the pic, as I was so entranced with the design. Thought the background was a suede-y tan, but after enlarged, saw that the gold was sprinkled over it. What a pretty look, and aren't you brilliant to do that!!!
