A Very Busy Card

Hello and happy Saturday! I have another herringbone pattern background card today done with strips of paper from a Teresa Collins paper pad. Whenever you cut an A2 piece from a paper pad, it leaves you with a useful strip of leftover paper, so I cut them into 1/4" strips and make backgrounds with them. I used a Simon Says Stamp Bella Bloom die for the main flower, and for all the smaller flowers on the Cheery Lynn flourish die cut done in navy. I used 2 different hole punches for the flower centers, and added a SSS small love you die for the sentiment. I put the main flower together with a mini brad in the center. I wasn't happy with the final look after all that layering and die cutting, but it is what it is. All of the colors blend into one another and the only thing my eyes see is that big white flower.

I'm sharing this one over at the Cuttlebug Mania challenge which is a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge. I chose the top horizontal line to make my card. Can you say Snippets Playground #185 too? I may have used a snippet or two hundred on this card, so I'll be sharing it over there too as soon as the gates open again.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great weekend whatever you do!

Carol, you did a beautiful job on this card. I love herringbone backgrounds. Love the floral accents too. Great job following the Tic-Tac-Toe board, these tend to really challenge us. Thanks for joining us at Cuttlebug Mania.

You're going to have to do a tutorial on how to do that herringbone since it's always so pretty. Love the patterned paper you used and that great big flower!

The back ground you have made here looks great Carol, you have some patience to cut all those narrow strips.I like the die cut flourish and the white flowers look good on the patterned background,

I always think your herringbone backgrounds are fabulous! This card is no exception. They are a lot of work but well worth the effort and a fabulous use of your snippets.

You are too hard on yourself as this is a lovely card.

This card is a beauty Carol, it almost makes me want to make an A2 card, I don't as a rule, not regular size for mail here.

Love, LOVE :) the herringbone pattern, do you have a pattern for it or do you just go,with the flow???
