One Die - Three Ways

Today I have 3 cards using the Memory Box Dazzling Snowflake die that I won at the Snippets Playground quite a while ago. I played with it as soon as I got it, but I had trouble fiddling with all the tiny pieces and didn't like anything I made with it, so I put it aside for a while. After seeing other people in blogland using the same die, I decided to give it another go, so here are 3 cards I made.

For this one I used Pool Party and Plum Pudding colors, and die cut a 2nd snowflake from silver embossed cardstock. I replaced the pool party negative pieces with the silver embossed pieces, replacing a few with lavender gemstones. Don't look too closely, or you'll see some of those super tiny dots went missing :) I added a MS punched snowflake, a SU! punched mini flower and more gemstones to the center. The sentiment was silver embossed and everything went onto a white card base.

Here's another one done in turquoise and silver. I added May Arts chevron ribbon to the corners, and a big silver brad to the center on top of the MS punched snowflake. Some tiny circles were replaced with silver Geo Sparkler stickers. The sentiment was done with stickers and my Quickutz, with a tiny snowflake punch used in place of the letter "O" with a mini turquoise die-cut star in the center.

For this version, I used the negative portion left over after putting all those silver embossed pieces into the first card. I hated to toss this away, so I hand-cut the edges into points and put it onto a Melon Mambo card base, adding some pink gemstones to the center and a silver embossed sentiment at the bottom.

These cards are going over to the May Rudolph Days which runs from the 25th to the end of May.

They're also going over to the Snippets Playground Challenges #178 and #179.

Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a great day!

Carol

Wow you got the most out of one die piece. Outstanding work, Carol. I love how you had the forethought to change things up so nicely. I could not pick a favorite because they are all gorgeous. Wishing you a great day. We are getting into the high 80's today and maybe 90 n the next few days. Winter to Summer and only a couple of nice spring days in between.

Oh you clever little sausage Carol! I would never have thought to use the negative that's leftover from cutting the die - three wonderful cards!

Well, good golly!!! You have a lot more patience than I'd ever have I'm afraid! WOW! All those tiny pieces and if there's any missing you sure can't tell from here. I love all three of these Carol. Great way to use the negative part too!

Wow Carol, I love the three different looks you made with that lovely die. I can see that it would be a bit fiddly to do but the lovely results are worth it.

I have made a lot of cards that don't like how came out... Your three snowflake cards are so pretty! Love expecially the second one in turquoise and silver, the little snowflake for the "O" is a brilliant idea and the chevron ribbons in the edges look great!!

This was my favourite die last year and I made 150 cards with it and to be honest the little tiny pieces did my head in. Three terrific cards you have made here, love the different variations.

Thanks for joining in this months Rudolph Day challenge.

That looks like one fiddly die! However, you did great stuff with it. That middle card is my favorite of the bunch. Also, I love that chevron ribbon in the corners. I finally know what to do with mine!

A trio of splendid snowflakes. Not complaining about the heat (ha ha), but a few snowflakes would feel real nice.

These are fantastic. You may recall that I fell in love with this die as a result of another Playground Playmate. Ended up buying it. Not sure I could put all the fiddly bits back in but your card looks great for it. Specially like the last one too....it looks like metal.
