His and Hers Neon Birthday Cards

I recently became aware of how much stash I've accumulated when I stumbled upon 2 boxes of stamped images I've saved for years. I made a goal to color them and use them to make cards, regardless of how old they are! There are hundreds to sort through I'm sure! Today's 2 cards are using some of those stamped images. I'm think these are Penny Black images, but  I never wrote the stamp manufacturer's name on the back, so it's guesswork as to who made them. Anyhoo, I colored the image with Copics, cut it with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle and mounted it on black. The blue panels were white cardstock snippets, colored with a blue fluorescent Copic marker, and embossed with a Darice tiny stars embossing folder. The sentiment is by LOTV, and the tiny stars are negatives from a SSS star border die.

Here's the pink version for "her." For this one, I did a little doodling around the stitched rectangle, and embossed the vertical panels with a SU! arrow folder after coloring them with a Copic pink fluorescent marker. I added 3 black Candi dots and the same LOTV sentiment to finish this card.

                                      sketch 251

I based both cards on the OWH Stars and Stamps sketch challenge #251 and I'm also entering the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Happy Birthday

Inkspirational Challenge #79 - neon colors

Snippets Playground #170 - must use snippets

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful day!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one with a really old box of images. Love these 'his' and 'her' Penny Black hedgies. They make for sweet cards. This is a simple but fun card design. Now then, race you to the bottom of our respective image boxes???!

Carol, nicely done. Way to go with starting to use up those images. I know just what you mean...I probably have as many as you do. Fortunately for me, most of those stamped images were kindly colored for me by my hubby. Now all I have to do is find (TIME) to make them into a card (that's the difficult part!)

Two wonderful cards. What a treat that must have been to discover those coloured images.

I too am trying to work through my stash...I don't have two boxes of coloured images...but I do have a few I must admit! I am trying to get those made up too as I am looking forward to colouring more when I am up at the lake. It is such an easy thing to do up there and does not require as much stuff hauled up there with me! lol

Carol, two cuties. I adore hedgies and I'm pretty sure these are by PB. I like that you made them two different colors for each card. The doodling on your girl version add a nice touch. Nice job with the star embossing and stars on the boy version. Have a good day mt friend.

Two boxes unused for years? Wow!
I think it's a very useful thing to stamp images and colouring them later... I must do it, as you made!! Usually I stamp only when I need an image, so making a card becomes a longer work...
Your cute cards are adorable, love the design, the cute hedgehogs and the embossed stripes!

I love this cute little image and what fun to make a his and hers version. It is a great sketch to follow for using up snippets, I have got loads of thin strips like that.

So cute!!! I like your fluorescent markers...never used those. Your image is so sweet. I wish someone would use some of the things I've had in my craft room forever. Maybe that should be me, huh? HA

These are absolutely gorgeous Carol! The fluorescent blue and pink really makes them 'pop'!

Oh, the stamp is indeed a Penny Black one, called 'Hedgehog Party Couple' :)

Oh, how cute your cards from scraps turned out ! I like that you made both a boy and a girl version and just slightly different.

Good for you. I should take a page from your book and do likewise. These are both just cute as can be, and I'm loving this layout. Liked the extra doodling on the stitched hedgie rectangle too. These images are so cute. TFS
