Using Old Road Maps

Here's my take on the OWH Stars and Stamps sketch challenge #250. I used a piece of an old road map, along with some circle dies and a red snippet from my stash. The sentiment is from SU!, the gold-embossed die-cut anchor was done with a Marianne die, and I added some random tiny negative stars left over from a previous project. The final touch was a piece of navy twine from Whisker Graphics that was a free sample.

OWH Sketch 250

I'm also entering this into the Snippets Playground #168 as well as the Cuttlebug Mania 2nd anniversary challenge to use a die cut machine and 2 of something. I used 2 Spellbinder die cut circles. (Thanks for letting me know about this challenge Di)

Wishing everyone a great Monday! Thanks for stopping by :)

Oh Carol - you did it again! What a stunning card - so clever and beautifully designed and made as always.

Why not enter it into the current Cuttlebug Challenge which is celebrating 2 years since the challenge started. You have to use a manual die cutting/embossing machine plus, in this case. the number 2. This qualifies hands down! Be quick though as the challenge closes in 14 hours!

I love the twine twined through the anchor--fabulous card. I love the idea of using road maps. I kept quite a stash of them until I realized that it was years later and I never touched them.

This is a great take on the sketch Carol. I love when real map paper is used on a card because it looks so neat. I have always love this sentiment from SU, it just grabs my attention each and every time I see it. You have a winner in this card my friend. Hugs, Brenda

Carol,

What a fabulous card! Love that recycled map. It really is perfect with your sentiment, and the circular elements bring extra attention to that Earth part of your sentiment.

Thanks so much for playing along with our OWH Sketch Challenge. :)
