Well-worn Flannel

Today's card was created for the MFP Speedy Fox & Friends challenge #249 which is to heat emboss with white and sponge on several colors.

I pulled out my favorite MFP stamp set "Southwest Cowboy" and built the card from there. The background was done with a retired SU! flannel background stamp, white ep, and 4 Memento inks - rich cocoa, desert sand, summer sky, and blue danube. The image was stamped with espresso ink, colored, and then covered with clear detail ep and heat-set, and then fussy cut after those steps. I placed it on 2 Lil Inker stitched rectangles of vanilla and pacific point, adding a snippet of espresso cardstock for the sentiment. The final touch was the brass brads for a masculine feel. I was going for a worn flannel look, and I think what I envisioned is what I ended up with :)

I'm also going to share this over at the Snippets Playground #164 - which is always to use snippets.

Thanks for stopping by and have a happy Wednesday!

Carol

Since The Duke was my fav all time cowboy, I really like this one. The stitched mats look like a suede shirt behind this elevated cowpoke, and your background really does have a look of soft faded flannel. A wonderful & perfect masculine card! TFS & hugs.
