Paper Tole Flower

Today I have a card made for the Mod Squad challenge which is "paper tole." Paper tole is to stamp an image 3 times, cut 2 of the images out in smaller sections and layer it for a 3D look. For my card today I used a Hero Arts floral image and colored it with 4 different Copics. I added a small prima flower to the center which was colored with a Copic to match the green Cheery Lynn flourish. I added some tiny pink gemstones randomly to the embossed background as well as one to the flower center. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley (thanks Di!), and the background was done with a Sizzix Winter Berries ef.

Here's a close-up that shows the 3 layers of the floral image.

I'm also sharing this over at the Snippets Playground #165 since I used snippets of white card stock to make the flower.

Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you a great day!

Carol

Wow! What a beauty you created. Paper tole is so gorgeous and your 3D flower looks awesome with all that white space. I like the gemstones scattered about and that wonderful embossing folder.

Pretty card! I forgot that the layering technique was also called Paper Tole! It has been too long since I've done any of it, whatever you call it!

Wow! This is so pretty Carol! I didn't know that this is what it is called when you layer an image by cutting the image out 3 times. But I sure do love the look!! Love that embossing folder too. Hugs, Brenda

Just gorgeous Carol. I've never seen that Winter Berries folder before but I really like it. Your flourish goes great with your 3-d flower. Stay warm

Oh double wow from me Carol! What a fabulous card and the paper toleing is so, so beautiful!

Grin, and I can tell you exactly where that little sentiment came from, I recognised it right away as it's a huge favourite of mine here. It's from the Lili of The Valley 'General Greetings - Small' sentiments set. How am I sure? Tee, hee - you won it in the Playground in week 73, way back in May 2013!!

Well, this card is just lovely. I like everything about it, from the crisp white embossed background with just those little gems, to the beautiful bright bloom and green flourish. All the colors are gorgeous, well done. Great take on the challenge, thanks so much for playing along with us this week at the Mod Squad!

That embossed background is beautiful Carol, and makes a fantastic setting for the pop of colour on your magnificent bloom.

So pretty! Love your paper tole flower!
Wonderful card.

Saw your comment on Sam (Hettiecraft) blog and thought I would pop over to say get that snowflake card into a post and link it up over at Rudolph Days on my blog. I have a great Memory Box die for a prize this month.

Sorry i have been absent. Was quite sick with bronchitis and finally feel almost better. Will get back into my visiting routines next week!
