Tuxedo Card

I recently received my new SU! bow builder punch and decided to make a formal tuxedo card just for the fun of it. I used some black cardstock and heat-embossed the lapels with clear ep after notching them. I used foam tape to hold them open after folding them back. The "shirt" was embossed with a Sizzix powdered sugar ef, and the bow tie was made with with some soft silver dsp from the wedding stack by Making Memories. The shirt buttons are tiny black gems, while the tux buttons are clear embossed "eyes" from the SU! owl punch. There's enough room to add a sentiment, but I'll hang onto this one until the occasion creates a need and then add one. I think I could use this for a birthday, anniversary, or an occasion to celebrate a special accomplishment.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - it's a guy thing

Snippets Playground #160 - must use snippets

Darnell's NBUS challenge #3 - my "new schtuff" is the bow builder punch

While you're visiting Darnell's blog, be sure and wish her a happy anniversary! She and the mister celebrated their special day on the 16th :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!

Carol

You are so creative Carol! I love it. Have a wedding coming up and I was thinking of doing a tux made with a heart. Also a gown made with a heart for the bride. The wedding is Feb. 14th.
I love the way you used the EF on the tux. May have to try that on the heart tux.

You clever girl, you! This is a fabulous use of the Bow punch (will have to relook at the catalog for this item!). The tucks on the shirt are brilliant, as were the tiny buttons. Love that satin look on the tux and your owl eye buttons are precious! Such imaginative uses of these supplies to create a marvelous looking card! Well done indeed! TFS & Hugs

Whoa! This is too cool! I've seen a similar tux made with the A Muse bow die but this is way fancier with your embossed design shirt and the heat embossing to make the lapels shiny. This just rocks!!!! In a formal, tuxedo wearing kind of way, but of course. Pinkies in the air!

Why aren't there card magazines any more? This is a cover card if I ever saw one! I'll bet anything you are showcased by Di for this and, trust me, if I DID pick winners for my challenge, which I don't, this WOULD be one!! Tell the truth, you must have sat back in your chair as proud as punch after you finished this!! Sorry, I know I'm gushing, but it is TOO fantastic!! Thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #3 for the third time and thank you for the anniversary shout out!! I hope you're having a great week! Hugs, Darnell
