Free is Good!

With this card, I'm playing along with the SOS#179 - "Free is Good" challenge. We're supposed to make a card with something we received for free. My free item is this beautiful MFP hydrangea stamp set that a sweet blogging friend (Nancy) gifted me with just for leaving a comment on her birthday! I colored it with a combination of Copics and Spectrum Noir blue markers, adding some glaze pen yellow accents to the centers of each bloom. I layered it with Island Indigo and Pool Party card, die cut with Lil Inker stitched rectangles. I put the sentiment inside because I thought it looked fine just the way it is.

I hope everyone's breathing a little easier today after a frenzied day of shopping. I stayed in and starting getting Christmas cards ready for mailing, which I find much more relaxing than shopping with the masses! Have a great Saturday and thanks for stopping by!

I didn't do any shopping at all yesterday - not in the stores and not online.......and it was nice! I do need to get my Christmas cards going though.

This is a gorgeous card with your beautiful coloring and the stitched dies. I agree, I think it looks fine just the way it is. Some cards just need to have their focal point without a sentiment taking away from it. I did not leave the house till 9:30PM last night only to take Alli to the train station. I would not have gone to a store for anything. Have a good day.

Only shopping I did, for Black Friday, was the JoAnn's blurb I had fwd'd along. Nothing I wanted badly enough to fight crowds & germs. Love this hydrangea, and your yellow centers with the darker blue radiating from the centers, is great shading. It looks very springish and of course I love those stitched dies. They are a wonderful look ( and especially so for an ole sewer! That's SEW-ER, not SEWER ya know!)Good for you on getting your cards all ready. I need to make a bunch of inserts, mailing labels (don't write addresses any more...fingers don't like it!). I know you, you'll be way ahead. I'm doing visit catchup tonight...so TFS & Big Hugs. Hope you had great weather today, and will have uh-gin tomorrow!

A sweet and simple card. I like reading about your challenges and found myself wondering what I have for free. Then I remembered this glitter pack a neighbor gave me. EEK--no thanks, all that loose glitter. It looks so pretty in the package though.

That stamp is gorgeous! What a score to get it for free! Your coloring is fabulous, too, and the die-cut blues are perfection. I might like this a little. :)

Thanks for joining us at Shopping Our Stash!

PS: I don't shop after Thanksgiving. I'm allergic to it in general, and add the crowds? No, thank you.
