Mod Squad's Got the Blues!

The Mod Squad challenge this week asks us to use blue, brown, and any other neutral color on our cards. I used teal which in my mind is a shade of blue, while others see it as green. I thought it would make a fun Christmas card, so I stamped the GinaK Stately Flowers 6 image with Versamark and embossed it with gold ep. I colored the pinecone with 2 different brown shades of Copics, and added just a touch of green color to the pine branch. I matted with some kraft cs, and added 3 brass mini brads. The bow was done with brown and neutral twines, and the SU! sentiment was also embossed in gold. This was a simple Christmas card to create and I think I'll make a few more in different colors to add to my stash.

Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check the post at the top of my blog, because I had to pull a 2nd name for the blog candy.

Have a great day!

Carol

Gorgeous Christmas card. Love that pinecone. I love the teal....that's what I would call it, too. Good idea to make a bunch of these.

I guess it is like asking if the cup is half full or half empty. lol I think it looks blue in your picture so I am going to agree with you. I love, love this card. The pine cone is fabulous and I love how you embossed it with gold embossing powder and then colored it. I also love the greens. Just perfect and beautiful! Hugs, Brenda

I see teal as a blue also. And it's beautiful to see it used here with this wonderfully colored pine cone. I like this image, and your coloring on the needles is exactly the way this foliage looks. And the green shade is pretty against the (blue)teal too! Nice matting, and I like the gold Caligraphy look of the sentiment. Well done! TFS & Hugs
