America, Land of the Free

I made this card (along with a couple more) from scraps and snippets in my over-flowing bin of leftovers. The focal image was actually cut from a scrap of designer paper, and I framed it using more scraps. The background was done with 4 strips of coordinating blue, white, & red designer papers and the card base was done with Bazzill textured cs in a slate blue color. I cut the star with a Sizzix die, and strung some gold cording around it, adding some punched and die-cut stars from my little bottles of tiny embellishments. The sentiment is from A Muse.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

OWH midweek throwdown - to make any hero cards with a flag.

Snippets Playground #131 - must use snippets.

Shopping our Stash #158 - use red, white, & blue.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you're enjoying a wonderful week!

Carol

What a wonderful job you have done here...so creative to use that image cut from your DP for the focal image...OKay, now you have me going through all my DP to see what I have that I can use that way.
The whole card is so beautifully put together.
Hope you are keeping cool!

Carol,

Love the patterns you've chosen -- especially the striped paper at the bottom -- and how that vintage image pops off the page. Another wonderful card!

Have a wonderful holiday weekend.

Oh goody, I just saw this celebratory card over at the Snippety playground, where I zipped with my holiday card, and hoped the Brits wouldn't mind! Was happy to see yours there too. Great use of your bits & pieces, and really liked the way you framed out the vintage boy. Very clever. Also liked the gold cording around the star. Very wonderful 4th of July card! Yay for America!!! TFS & Hugs

Wow I love this card Carol! I love that you used an image from DP-I never think to do that and need to! lol Love the papers you used and boy isn't it rewarding to use some of the snippet stash up?! My drawers are overflowing too and I swear I used my snippets as often as I can. It's like laundry and keeps multiplying it think! Hugs, Brenda

Brilliant Carol! And WHAT a great idea to use an image from a DP and frame it as you did. I never would have thought to do that and I have loads of DP languishing with useable images - yet another great idea from you!

Hugs, Di xx
