OWH Weekly Challenges

Here's the card I made for this week's OWH midweek throwdown which is to make a Father's Day card. I've had this Inkadinkado stamp set forever and don't recall ever using the Father's Day sentiment until now. I stamped the sentiment and fancy element in Early Espresso ink, and used DCWV papers from the Natural stack. I added some kraft cardstock along with some copper brads and loosely based this on last week's OWH #218 sketch - one that's perfect for those larger sentiments.

This card is for today's OWH #219 sketch challenge. I used a Dustin Pike pre-colored digi and made this card with a patriotic/star theme. I might use this for Hero mail in my next box. I used Darice (stars) and Sizzix/Hero Arts (chevrons) embossing folders in white, and computer generated the sentiment. I covered the star-shaped balloons with SU! punched stars and popped up the white one on dimensionals. I used some tiny star brads on the embossed panel, and for the final touch I used some Spica glitter pen highlights on the eagle's sweater.

That's going to do it for me for this Sunday, but I wish you a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Carol

I really like the father's day card, very masculine with the houndstooth and I love the touches of copper! The other card is very cute :)

Wowzers!
Your first card is so traditionally masculine...like a Ralf Lauren ad.
It is wonderfully made. That stamp is great!
The second is so cute and fun and colouful!

Two great cards my friend.

I love both of these cards. It's funny but I think I've only used the Father's Day stamp from that set only once or twice. I used the Mother's Day much more often. Your Father's Day card did come out very nice. Your brads and other little stamping are both great additions. Your second card is super sweet. I really like the star balloons. It could be used for either an Any Hero or to send home to a family member. Very versatile. Have a nice day. It is sunny here and in the 50's, finally.

Well, being a lover of houndstooth, you know I like that first card. And, what a fabulous sentiment.

The second card is just too cute. I love the punched stars. It's such a fabulous, patriotic card.

We're in for a lot of rain today starting very soon....2-4 inches in this area and and east of us. I think maybe we'll get a little over 2" and eastward will get the 4". It'll probably head your way. Actually, I don't know where it is headed...can't remember.

Both are fabulous! Love that first one. So manly looking and perfect for any dad.
The second - as cute as can be. Cute idea to add the star balloons like you did and also love the red, white, and blue!

Both of these cards are fabulous Carol! I love the colors in the first masculine card and I love the font on the sentiment. Your second card is so awesome!! I love the red/white and blue colors-I love anything patriotic. lol That eagle is so cool and I love how you have colored him and have him holding the star balloons. I can tell you first hand how the soldiers love getting mail and these cards to send to their families. Thanks for all you do Carol! Hugs

Two more fab cards. Don't know how you manage to turn out so many, and each one is just lovely. The Father's Day one is a perfect masculine card, loved the colors & that fancy sentiment. The little patriot bird steals the show on this duo though. Loved all the embossing patterns, your tiny stars, and the the balloon stars. This is one goofy looking bird, and sure to bring a smile to whomever receives it. Loved the blue denim in the background too. Great card. TFS & Hugs
