Let it Snow, Let it Snow.......and it will!!

Here's my entry for this week's OWH Stars and Stamps sketch challenge #203. I took a few liberties with the sketch because I wanted to use some die cut pieces I'd cut for previous projects and never used. The fancy die cut is a Lotus from Spellbinders in vanilla cardstock, while the SU! bird is perched upon a woodland branch die cut. The sentiment was done on die-cut feathers with a Casual Friday's stamp, and the main color is Pool Party with dark grey scraps for the banners. I'm also entering this card into the Snippets playground #103, because practically everything used was a found snippet in my stash!

Here's an adorable pre-colored image from Laurie Furnell that I used to make this card for the Cards in Envy "Icy or Hot" challenge. Obviously I went with icy, as it's been snowing here in PA and it's not even officially winter yet!! I used papers from a Fancy pants Blizzard paper pad, and added a couple felt snowflakes along with some red gemstones from Pizzazz Aplenty. The sentiment was a printed border from the stack, so that worked out perfectly to make a quick & simple card and it's flat enough to mail with just one stamp! Yay!

I'm also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is to "let it snow."

Stay warm and have a great week! Thanks for stopping by as always :)

Carol

Carol, you made cards today with two of my favorite things...birds and snowmen. They're both grrrreat. You really know how to use those snippets to make gorgeous creations.

Hi Carol . . .2 more lovely cards here, but I'm especially taken with the first one. I have that bird stamp, and it's a GREAT idea to pop a die cut branch below him. FAB!

Too much excitement and eggnog, coupled with chestnuts and the brazier means the bike shed burned down in the Playground. Now fundraising to build another!

Carol, These are two sweet cards. I adore the first card with those cool colors. You put together several different dies and created a gorgeous image. Your second card has just melted my heart. I love snowmen but some a sweeter than others and this is one of the sweeties. Love your snowflakes and the sentiment. In my book you can't go wrong with plaid paper. A winner girlfriend. Enjoy the evening.

Love that cute snowman, and wow did it ever make up into a great card. I fell in love with #1 though, as I am a nut for birds. Loved the twig that the bird perched on and you were inspired in using that Lotus die. I have that one, and never know how to use it well. It's perfect here. Good luck with all your snow. Glad we had some sunshine. I'm not ready for the white stuff yet! Thanks for sharing 2 such lovely cards. Hugs

Do you think if I say "let it snow, let it snow" enough down here, it will!!! Maybe but I doubt it for sure. Guess I'll just have to come see you to see the white stuff!

BOTH of these are WOW! The first one using that die is wonderful. Love the sentiment on the little feather too!
The second one - another WOW card! Love those colors.....VERY PRETTY!
