Zebra Print Inspired Birthday Card

One of my granddaughter's will be turning 8 early next month, so I've made this card for her. I spoke with her on the phone last week to ask her what she'd like to have for her birthday, and she specifically said she wanted clothes with zebra print on them!! WOW! Tall order indeed to find something like that, but I did find some zebra paper and put it on her birthday card! The image is a free one I d/l from CuddlebugCuties, and I colored it with Copics. I die cut it with a SB labels 18, outlining the edges with a fine marker before cutting. I couldn't find any matching paper or cardstock in the magenta color I used on her shirt, so I just made my own! I outlined the edges of the mats with the marker and put the zebra print in-between. The sentiment was computer generated and popped up on dimensionals. I used a retired SU! punch on the corners and added black & white twine to those corners to break up all that magenta color on the top. My DGD has long hair and wears it in 2 pony tails, so I hope she'll like this card! I added a piece of the print to the envelope flap in the background too! I understand why she likes this zebra print so much as I'm growing fond of it too :)

Thanks for spending a few minutes of your day with me! Wishing you a great weekend too!

How nice you could do the card with zebra print and what a cute image. Is Cory's hair that long? :-) I'm guessing not. I bet the envie looks really cute with the zebra pattern on it.
Now, you better get crackin' looking for those zebra print clothes.

She'll love it!!! This is so cute and I love the design you used. Beautiful coloring and especially on her hair! Cute idea to add it to the envelope too.

Clothes with zebra print? Now there's a girl who knows exactly what she wants! Good for her.

Your card turned out supercute. Love how you made your own magenta paper.

I remember my girls turning 8...almost 30 years ago...it is such a fun age...they are not little girls anymore but still finding their way as young women!

This is such a perfect card for that age group! The zebra stripe is perfect and love your freebie!

Corey will be thrilled with this, how could she not be? It's simply adorable. I just spotted that punch the other day and thought I should take it out of the draw and use it, but now seeing how you jazzed it up with the twine, I will definitely get it out. Thanks for some more inspiration this weekend. Enjoy your day.
