Melon Mambo Birthday Cards

I made a couple of birthday cards using the combination of Melon Mambo, black and white because these colors look great to me. The flowers were created from the SU! set Flower Shop, and they were cut with the SU! Pansy Punch. The sentiment (sincere salutations), punched border, and embossed panel were all done with SU! products and I added a piece of Melon Mambo ribbon to divide the black layer. The tiny hearts were done with a SNSS border die, and the flower centers are punched cardstock that was pressed into a mousepad with the eraser end of a pencil, and popped up on a little piece of foam tape. I love making my own "brads" like this because they match perfectly and don't require extra postage.

Here's another version I made using the same Flower Shop stamp set, but I embossed this one with a Vine Street embossing folder, and added a stem that was cut with a Little Leaves Sizzlit die and embossed with a square lattice ef. That little flower center is a new product called a candy dot in Melon Mambo. I LOVE these embellishments! The butterfly is from punch-a-bunch and the sentiment is from Morning Meadow. The border was also done with a fancy scallop punch. All products used for this card (except for the butterfly) are SU!

And now I have a couple more birthday cards added to my stash!

Have a fabulous Friday and thanks for stopping by!

Carol

Oh that Melon Mambo look fabulous with the black and white. I love everything about both of these cards. I really have to try making my brads this way. Your always look so perfect. I wish you a great rest of the weekend. Off to pick up MIL and then home for a nice night with Hubby. Back in the yard again tomorrow. I think it will be way too hot the rest of the week for outdoor work. I'm such a fair weather person. I don't walk, garden, do anything outdoors unless the weather is between 50-75. Most people would call me a real PIA and they would be right. Talk to you soon.
