Sympathy Card

I got word this morning that a close friend of mine lost her mother early this morning, so I immediately began making her a sympathy card, and used the Oozak April challenge which is to use ribbon, lace, and pearls. The image and sentiment are from SU! and I used some lace and ribbon from my stash. Pearls are by Kaiser, embossing was done with a Sizzix TH damask folder, and the main image was done with 2 SB blossom dies. I colored the image with markers before stamping on the vanilla card stock. Sentiment was done with CTMH grey wool ink.

Life really tears us apart sometimes, as my friend became a new grandmother yesterday and then lost her mother today. I can't imagine what it's like to feel such overwhelming grief and joy at the same time.

I wish you all a good day and thank you for stopping by.

Carol

Oh Carol, this is absolutely beautiful! So delicate and gentle colours, it's perfect.Such a mixed time for your friend.

I sat and made a card for Maggie from all of us in the Snippets Playground yesterday, with a very heavy heart indeed.

Hugs, Di xx

Such a beautiful & heartfelt card, Carol. We as crafters all dread having to make sympathy cards but you've made this with such a touch of softness and beauty. I'm sure the recipient will know that your thinking of them and you care.

Wow - I am glad your friend had something sweet to think about admist the sadness. Losing a mother is one of the saddest things in the world, but I can just imagine that a new grandchild has got to be a wonderful thing (I am so looking forward to it one day). Your card is truly special and very beautiful. Hugz!

What a tender, tender card, Carol. It's thoughtful, tactile, and precious to be held by the recipient. I love it.

I was moved by the situation you're friend is in. Such a stark contrast, so representative of the highs and lows of life.
