For Mom

I used the Seize the Birthday sketch #12 to make this birthday card for Mom. I couldn't find a place to add "happy birthday" so I'll add it to the inside of the card.
The dsp is from a retired SU! scrapbook kit that includes the colors of artichoke and coral. I added some retired groovy guava card stock and ribbon that closely matched the coral colors, along with some cream-colored linen card stock for the base. The sentiment panel was cut with a SB grommet die, and the sentiment is by Verve. I attached it with 2 vanilla brads. The embossing folder is Honeycomb textured impressions by SU! and I hand-cut some hexagons from coral dsp scraps and inserted them randomly inside the embossed areas.
Since I used some snippets to make this card, I'm also entering it into Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground #67.

Spring is coming for a day or two and then we're heading straight into summer with temps in the 80's! WOW! I hope you're having great weather where you live! Thanks so much for stopping by and have yourself a wonderful Monday!

Wow~! The 80's will be awesome. I'm just in for a break from trimming my ferns. Yippee!!!

Absolutely fabulous Carol!! Love the coral you used and those are cute little hexagons. I haven't played with my new SU Honeycomb folder yet but have wondered whether running a snippet of patterned paper through would give guidance when snipping the infills?

Carol, I would not even come close to getting such a good cut with those hexagons. Wonderful job with that. Your colors are very nice together and I like that sketch also. Very pretty and someone's Mom will be delighted, I'm sure. We hit high 60's today and have a couple more nice days, but then it is going back down to 50's. I hope we get a little of that warmer weather you're going to get so I can get back out in the yard. It has been in the 20's and 30's in the mornings though. I don't like that. Enjoy the week, my friend.

What a fun sketch and you really made it come to life with that hexagon embossing folder you used. I love how you cut some of them with paper to filled in the hexagons in different spots. The brads on the sides and ribbon on the top are all great touches and I love the coral color with the green. BEAUTIFUL!

Such a pretty card, Carol! Love those colors and your patterned papers! Today is my Mom's birthday so your card really grabbed my attention here. Love the Honeycomb EF! Lovely card, my friend!
Yes, it got really warm here yesterday. I was sweating my butt off giving Gigi a bath in the afternoon. It was 79 here! I seen 80's for the next several days! For once we're getting some warm breezes & lots of sunshine....i'll take it! Enjoy! :)

Enjoying the weather, here also! I went to work, while Jim grumbled out in the yard. Love this Mom's Birthday you have created with the awesome hexagons. I am sure if I tried to fit in ones like you did, I would go about it the hard way!
