An Amish Quilt

I haven't used this stamp in a long time, but it's called Quilt Barn and it's from Rubber Cottage. I bought it at a little stamp store near Lancaster called the "Rubber Buggy" that sadly closed several years ago. (You can still find this stamp on their website.) The store owner carried a huge line of Amish-related stamps and I had to have this stamp the minute I laid eyes on it. I thought of this stamp as soon as I saw the MFP Speedy Fox & Friends challenge #153 to use the letter "A" either in your image, or your sentiment. I consider this to be an Amish quilt, since they used to paint quilt designs on their barns. I omitted the sentiment because I don't think this needs one. I tied a simple piece of ribbon around the bottom just to add a bit of interest.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I wish you all a wonderful week!

Wow! Carol, this is simply awesome!! Your coloring is gorgeous and am glad you didn't add a sentiment to take away from its beauty. So pretty.

Carol, this one is phenomenal! I love your coloring job. I got a history lesson also with your post today. I never knew the Amish painted designs on their barns. I really think a sentiment would have taken away they eye away from this piece, so I think you made the right decision to leave it off. The ribbon is the perfect little touch. Talk to you soon.

Oh my goodness, what an awesome stamp and card. We have an Amish community about 40 miles from us. That is the first thing I thought of when I saw this super card. I just love it, Carol.
