Shaped Cards for Easter

The challenge at MFP Speedy Fox and Friends #50 this week is to make "shaped cards." I needed to make some Easter cards for the grands, and the idea of different shapes appealed to me and hopefully the little ones will enjoy them as well. Who am I kidding - for them it's all about the CANDY! LOL

I used a SB labels 18 for this along with some turquoise cardstock, and placed the fold on the side. The bunny image is from SU! (thanks Wendy!) and I added some die-cut & embossed grass to ground the bunny. I colored the background with a Copic B0000 to add some sky, and added a sentiment panel with a little piece of chocolate twill. I outlined the card base with a dark brown marker because it needed something to make the image pop. Finally, I added a chocolate pearl for the eye, and a couple of prima flowers with a mini brad, and I'll call this one done.

Here's the 2nd one - a round card done with SB circle and scalloped circle dies. I colored the bunny image with Copics and added some liquid applique to his little tail just for fun!

Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you a great Wednesday!

Carol

These cards are really sweet, Carol. So nicely done...I now have to go look at my dies...and see which ones I can use to make a shaped card. Thanks for the inspiration. Hope you are having a great week.

Truly want to take a bit of the first one! Love all of the soft spring colors. On the circular card, who would not fall in love with that little cotton tail!

LOL! I'm sure they will adore these sweet cards, Carol. And yes, have some candy on hand, too!

The grandkids will love them almost as much as the candy. they are both darling and I love the cottontail on the second card. the brown outlined die on the first card really does make it pop. Nice choice to do that. Gotta get back outside, it's gorgeous out and I'm starting to clean up the yard a bit.
