Virtue, Liberty, Independence

This week's challenge #148 over at MFP Speedy Fox & Friends is to make a card that tells you about your state. I live in PA and I've taken the colors and several images from our state flag.

I used a horse image from MFP Southwest Cowboy stamp set, and added some lightning in the background, because he needed a reason to rear up on his hind legs :) I sponged some colors in the background, and if you click the picture to enlarge it, you'll see some wheat stamped on the blue background with Versamark ink - since the flag has several wheat bundles on it.

I haven't figured out what occasion I'll use this card for yet, but I'm thinking if I stick it in my next OWH box, a PA soldier serving far away from home might recognize the PA flag similarities, and choose it to write home to loved ones living in PA.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Carol

stamps - MFP Southwest Cowboy. Rubbernecker Wheat Bundle
paper - black, red, orange, green, yellow, royal blue, white
inks - versamark, versafine onyx black, Colorbox scarlet, canary yellow, orange, SU! chocolate chip, brown & tan markers, fine black marker
accessories - clear detail ep, SB labels 18 dies, SSS pinpoint border die, SU! fancy scallop border punch, American Crafts twines yellow & red

Super job on this challenge, Carol. I saw the challenge and thought it was such a cool one.

I hope a soldier from PA does get this card. I'm sure he/she would be very pleased to use it.

Carol this is a beautiful card representing your state flag/colors. You did a fabulous sponging job and it looks so nice with the white edging on the die piece. I know your work on the stars took a long time, but it was time very well spent. It looks stunning. Have a great evening.

Fabulous way to use the state flag and colors! Love the image of that horse and think it could be used for several different occasions.
