A Triple Challenge Card

Here's my card for the OWH Stars & Stamps challenge #145.

I'm using a new technique for using dies that I haven't tried before, so I'm also entering this into the ODBD November challenge for OWH, which is to make use of a rarely used tool or technique. This card also qualifies for the Hero Arts dry embossing challenge for November.
I used a Cheery Lynn mini flourish die and cut it twice with green and white card stock, and then carefully placed the green diecut into the white negative and I like the end result! I've seen this done before, but it's the first time I've tried it and I'll be doing it more often with my other dies. The background was embossed with a Hero Arts chevron ef, and the sentiment is also by Hero Arts. I added some black pearls and black grosgrain ribbon along with the black mats and this triple challenge card was done!

That's all I have for today, but thanks for stopping by and I hope your weekend has been a great one!

Carol

I have this same die, Carol, and I think I'll have to see if I have as much patience as you to place the die back into a negative. Love the chevrons and the font on your sentiment. The pearls - just right!!!!
Have a great night. Jimmy - booo!

I really like how that came out! I've never seen Cheery Lynn dies before but I wrote the name down when you made a card with I believe it was a daisy die. You're my new product pusher!

WOW!! What a fantastic card....I LOE this, Carol and think it's one of my new favorites!!

Thanks for the well wishes for Brian and Meghan -- I am so excited at how well things have worked out. Before they left, Brian had been applying for positions in that area and had found a wonderful place, when they were there in August. It was a nice small Pub type restaurant, much like where he worked here. He made a contact and started some email conversations back and forth. SHortly, before they left, he went through two interviews via Skype and then after they arrived, he interviewed in person and had the job offer that next week. It's exactly what he wanted and his new position is as an Asst GM at this fun place!!

Two days after that, and after looking for days, they found a cute little house to rent and it's just about 2 1/2 miles from his new job, so that was a plus! It looks really cut, and I can't wait to go for a visit, but want them to have plenty of time to settle in.

Meg is very happy and excited and I'm sure she'll find a job quickly too! I'm so proud of them both and how happy they seem to be. Their trip across country was fabulous and they shared pics of every place they visited...a once in a lifetime kind of trip!!

So -- this Momma is feeling much better and not as teary...I still miss them, but I know they'll be fine and that's a good feeling!!

Hugs to you,
Lis

I have that die too Carol, and I love what you've done with it. I've taken the easy route and backed the die cut with colored card stock. Now you've got me excited to try your technique. Can you spare a little patience for me to try it? lol

Hi Carol! What a lovely card! I am fascinated by the way the die is inset into your card. Another new technique to try! Love the green and white color scheme too. It's so fresh looking. I have to add that I love the banner for the sentiment too.
