A Herringbone Anniversary Card

I made this card for a dear friend who recently celebrated her anniversary. The top note die cut was done using the herringbone technique and I used the negative frame to make this card so nothing was wasted! I used kraft, black, & white assorted scraps of dsp & cardstock for the technique. The sentiment was embossed with clear detail ep to make it pop, and I outlined the die cuts with black markers (before cutting) to add a little definition. The button brads were from my stash, and I added some black spica glitter pen details to the Cheery Lynn Flourishes. The embossed background was done with a SU! fancy fan ef, and the gorgeous silk ribbon is from Sharon Johnson's ribbon store - I think I've had it for over 2 yrs now!

Fortunately, we were spared from the Nor'easter storm that hit the east coast yesterday! We didn't get any of the wind, snow, or power outages that were expected as the storm moved more northward than previously predicted. I'm very grateful too! The elections are behind us, the storms are too, and hopefully I can get into a productive mode again soon!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Thursday!

Carol

Love that herringbone technique on your top note die. You paid so much so attention to detail with the inking on the flourishes. But, you always do. Awesome card!

So glad you were spared, especially from power outages. You can craft away now. :-)
