World Card Making Day

I always like to play along with Ellen Hutson's CLASSroom on world card making day, and today I made time to play along with 4 of their 5 challenges.
First up is  WCMD 2012 challenge 1 with Julie Ebersole. Julie's challenge is to create a holiday greeting. I made mine pretty simple by using an embossing folder from Sizzix's Thank You set #5 and matted it with cherry cobbler cardstock, while stamping it with a Christmas greeting from G Studio. The ornament was stamped with Versamark, embossed with gold ep, and punched with a SU! ornament punch. I added some Viva pearl pen accents and a piece of gold twine. I don't know the name of the stamp set, as I used it at a friend's house:)

There is a photo from Pinterest that Chari Moss challenges us to use as our inspiration to create a card for the WCMD 2012 challenge 2.

And this is the card I came up with. I used a stamp set called Fine & Dandy by Stampology. I stamped the leaves with white pigment ink on kraft cardstock, then embossed them with white ep. The image was embossed on light pink with claret ep, and die cut using a SB labels 25. I outlined both dies with a white picket fence distress marker before cutting, and added some tiny gemstones and Spica glitter pen accents. The cream colored border was stamped with a smaller image using pretty in pink and cut with a MS doily border punch. Sentiment is by SU, and the ribbon was from my stash. I used a piece of Close to Cocoa for the layering mat.

Next up is WCMD 2012 challenge 3: A sketch challenge by Sharon Harnist.

This is the card I came up with for challenge 3. I used another image by Stampology and colored it with Copics. The dsp is from the BoBunny Crazy Love collection. I punched some small hearts in the "banners" since this is a love card, The ribbon was a gift from a friend. I used a SB labels 18 die to cut the image, and outlined it with a marker before cutting.

My last card for today is for the WCMD 2012 challenge 5: Trend Watch Challenge by Julia Stainton. I used one of my favorite trends in cardmaking today - the chevron. I just love the look of those jagged stripes and can't seem to get enough of it. I also love hexagons and plaid dsp too. I used a Hero Arts stamp set done in navy ink, and also used an EK punch for the border. The dsp is Bazzill Basics Huckleberry Pie, and I used real red for the sentiment tag and mat for the clock face. Quick and easy, but a great card to send to OWH.

That's going to do it for me for world card making day. I'd like to give challenge #4 a go but I'm not going to have any sunshine to take photos tomorrow as we have rain in the forecast, but I'll see what I can do!

I hope you made some cards for this special day, and thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

WOW! Carol you've been busy! These are all fabulous! Love the CAS Christmas card with its texture. The second card is perfectly inspired by the photo. Love what you did with the sketch by staggering the banners, and the blue and white chevron stripes on the fourth are so eye catching! What a wonderful set of cards to add to your stash!

And, I tried to make two cards yesterday...one went to the garbage pile. Ugh! All of yours are gorgeous, Carol. I think you are one fast crafter, but still each card is beautifully done..always.

Ugly day here, too.
