Rainy Days, Red & Green, Emboss It!

Here's my card for the OWH Stars and Stamps midweek throwdown to use the colors of red and green. I just sent my box of Christmas cards in to OWH last week, so I didn't want to do the obvious and make another Christmas card. I made a thank-you card instead since those are in demand. I used a Crafty Cutts diamonds die and cut scraps of red & green cardstock and randomly placed them into a pattern. The border was done with a SU! punch and the sentiment is by Hero Arts.

I used this sketch from RainydaysSCSEPT2012 for my next card...

The background dsp I used for this card is from the Crate Paper Pretty Party paper pad (say that ten times) that I won by playing Susan's challenge for the month of August! I paired it with some PTI New Leaf Green and Taken with Teal. The image was gifted to me by a friend, and I colored it with Copics. The embossing was done with the TH bubble wrap ef, and the sentiment was computer generated and layered using SU! oval punches. The ribbon brad was part of some blog candy I won, and I added a piece of light green gingham ribbon just for fun.

And this card is for the Simon Says Stamp challenge this week where Simon says "Emboss it!" I have a friend who asked me to make a card for a friend of hers who just got engaged. I wasn't sure what type of image to use for an engagement card, so I used this Inkadinkado silhouette image I've had forever that portrays a couple. I embossed it by stamping with Versamark Onyx Black and then heat embossed it with clear detail ep. I cut the image out with a SB labels eighteen, drawing around the inside of the die with a fine line marker before cutting. The sentiment is by SU! and the background was embossed with the CB Victoria ef. I focused on the engagement theme with a computer generated sentiment that says "To love and be loved is the greatest joy on earth. Congratulations on your engagement." Does anyone know of any stamp company that makes specific stamps for engagement? I've never seen one so I just used my imagination for this one.

Thanks for hanging out with me for this extended post. I  seem to do more multiples lately and I have no idea why :)

Carol

You're on a roll! I think you did a fabulous job on the engagement sentiment.... I don't think I've seen any engagement specific sentiments out here, but I haven't been at it that long... ;o)

I've been AWOL for a few days (stupid work...) and I see you've been quite busy! I can't decide if I should go back and leave a note on each post or just make this one a mile long..... I'm really loving all your white cards with the embossing - they're really eye catching and elegant. A must try for me... I can't believe you pieced together all those little die pieces. It's so neat and tidy and looks like it had to take forever. I know you'll tell me it didn't....
You did a really nice job on the friendship card and you do such great clouds! I use Jan's template, but mine don't come out nearly that nice!

You are one crafty lady I tell ya!!!!
That first card is just amazing. I love how you matched up those die cut pieces and your punch along the bottom, just right. That second card is just super special and the third card will be very well received by the happy couple, that's for sure. Love the colors on that one also. Busy lady!!!! Talk to you next week. My very busy weekend starts in about one hour and goes non stop until Sunday evening.

The diamond dies seemed to work well, Carol. I love the pattern you came up with. The second image is simply adorable, with number three being perfect for a new engagement. A trio of terrific cards!

You're on a roll, Carol! I love the clever diamond/argyl layout card. It's like a jigsaw puzzle, which I love, so combining two hobbies is brilliant!

So is the coloring on your cute, cute "miss you" card!

The engagement card is so elegant and pretty - perfect! Hmmm, why are there no engagement images? Perhaps one could use a "ship's anchor image?" Now stop that! I'm just joshing.
