Eleven Years

It's hard to imagine that 11 years have passed since that horrible day when a terrorist attack on NYC changed our lives forever. I don't ever want to forget what happened on that day and how many souls were lost. This is the reason why I make cards for OWH to send to our deployed heroes serving overseas. I know they need to know we support them in their efforts to keep us safe from future attacks. If you want to show these heroes your support, please check OWH for the details and let a deployed hero know you care. This is an any hero card that will be going in my next OWH box.....
eta: I'm also entering this into the OWH Stars and Stamps midweek throwdown to make an any hero card in red, white and blue.

and here are 10 more "any hero" cards I'll be writing out to let a hero know we care about them, and support them while serving our country.

I used mostly all of another paper pad of BG Offbeat to make these 25 cards. I have 4 sheets left over, but they'll get used elsewhere I'm sure. These are all general themes of "missing you," "you're in my thoughts," "happy," and blank cards which are some of the most asked for themes.

I hope on the 11th anniversary of that tragic day, you'll always remember those brave heroes who ran into those burning towers to save lives and lost their own. It's unimaginable to think of all those innocent children and victims in those towers and the Pentagon, and those on board those hijacked airplanes who also perished. It is a day of remembering, and hopefully this country will never see such a senseless crime against humanity again.

Enjoy your day and especially your freedom.

Carol

Beautifully said, Carol. I don't think we will every forget every minute of that day and it's just a shame that we have to have those those memories in our heads and in our hearts. I am so thankful for the heroes we have to make sure that something like that never happens again. You have done a wonderful job of making so many Any Hero cards as well as cards for them to send home to their family and friends. I am going to have to case some of those fabulous cards of yours. Have a fabulous day (the best we can hope for on a anniversary day such as this.

Wow...you have been super busy. Carol, you pretty much summarized my feelings about those who serve our country as members of the military as well as the innocent victims of 9/11. And the recent killings of our ambassador and others in Libya makes me feel angry and saddened. According to the media, Mr. Stevens was well-liked by the Libyan people and he felt comfortable and safe there. I was glad to see Libyan demonstrators on the news waving signs like "We condemn acts of terror" and "Thanks America for all you do for us".
