Red, White & Blue Tags

There's a challenge for "anything goes" over at the Perfect Sentiments Challenge PSC39 using the colors red, white, & blue. Their challenges always require a sentiment to be on the front, so I stamped this with a Northwoods greeting in Versamark and embossed it with white ep on navy cardstock. The rest of the card was made with assorted punches, sequins, borders, PTI text, G studio stamps, dsp, twine and buttons. It has a bit of a patriotic feel to it but it can be used for a gift for anyone. I made a coffee cake for our neighbors on July 4th and this tag would have been perfect for that! Hindsight is always 20/20 :) It's surprising how much you can add to such a tiny space! This tag has been in my stash since I began scrapbooking eons ago, and since it was red, it was time to use it.
While I was in "tag" mode, I made another tag for the Simon Says Stamp challenge to created "ATG'S or TAGS." Since I had another red tag, I decided to decorate another one for this challenge. This one has a nautical theme, so it would be perfect for that man who loves to be on the water. I embossed some white cardstock with silver ep, then die cut it with a Marianne anchor die and wove a bit of soft twine through it. The scrap of blue was embossed with a SU fancy fan ef, and I stamped the Open Sea ship on white and tore the edges, glittering the water with irridescent ice. The "4 U" sentiment was done with my Quickutz and some navy cardstock. Ok, the tags are done - now bring on the presents :)

Thanks for stopping by again, and I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Carol

Carol, these are so cute. the colors are great, of course, but all your little extras on both of them are just just so special. Your star fits so nicely in the heart, good thinking. Your nautical themed tag is very pretty. I love the muted stamping in the background and your anchor is a nice accent piece.

I love the nautical one, I'm obsessed with that sort of stuff! I like the anchor and the embossing folder, did you say it was stampin up! ? I guess I'm out of the loop, didn't know they made embossing folders!
