Happy Independence Day America!

I wish all of my American friends a very happy July 4th as we celebrate our independence and freedom on this special day.

It's too hot outside for me, so I'll be doing something indoors where it's cooler. I made this card for 2 challenges. It's for the HMFMC123 "fruity" challenge, as well as Oozak's #4 "bright colors" challenge. I colored this HM image with Copics, and added some small stickers for the sentiment since the image pretty much took up the entire card!  I used some turquoise card stock for the mat and lettering since it looked bright and colorful along with the watermelon image. I added some tiny pink gemstones & black pearls to the letters & tiny butterflies. There are Spica glitter pen accents to the watermelon and seeds, along with white gel pen accents here and there. I wish I had a big slice of this juicy watermelon right now too :)

This card was made for the OWH mid-week throwdown to make an anniversary card. For this one went with a simple & elegant design, using a SB labels 18 for the sentiment panel and a CB ef for the background. I edged the die cut with a Marvy gold paint pen, and used a slot punch to weave the ribbon through the panel. I embossed the sentiment and butterflies with gold ep, and added a teardrop pearl to each butterfly body. The white satin ribbon was from my stash, and the stamp I used is from Rubber Stampede.

I may have more to share as the day goes on, but thanks for stopping by and please have a safe and happy July 4th celebration whatever you're going to do!

Carol

Hi Carol, and Happy 4th of July! Your watermelon card is so cute and I think that's how we may feel later this afternoon at a cookout! Your anniversary card is supremely elegant and a great design for a wedding card, too (I'm into all things weddings; my son's getting married 7/28!!) Have fun today.

Carol, Can I have some watermelon please? You made it look so delish!!!! The Spica really made the seeds stand out nicely. You sticker letters look very nice. Your second card is just another gorgeous, elegant card that any couple would treasure. Hope you are staying warm. It's about 75 degrees here in California. Not rubbing it in or anything. LOL
