Dynamic Duos #8

I played along with the Dynamic Duos #8 this week to use River Rock and Always Artichoke. I started this card early yesterday and during the process I went completely blank! I always struggle with color challenges the most, but I do love these colors together, so after sleeping on it, I had a few new ideas and finally finished the card.

A friend of mine asked me to make her a masculine birthday card, so this is what I came up with. I used the SNSS Serene Silhouettes for the images, and the sentiment is from SNSS Ocean Paradise. I'm hoping this looks masculine enough - what do you think? I used the new hexagon border die from Simon Says Stamp and cut 4 of them in river rock, always artichoke, white, and black. Adding those different colored punch outs to the die cut was a bit labor intensive, but I enjoy doing that sort of thing as it completely relaxes me. I just run some Scor-tape on the back side which makes it sticky enough to hold those little pieces inside the holes. A gel picker makes placing them in the holes a snap!
Here's a lighter photo that shows the detail a little better. I wasn't sure which photo I preferred, so I'm posting them both.
Here's wishing you a wonderful Sunday! Thanks for stopping by!

Yes, it is masculine enough...plants, but not frilly blooms, plus great colors for the guys. Love how you did the hexagon border and I do see how that would be time consuming, but well worth it.

Carol this is a lot of work, but it paid off because this card is just awesome. the colors are perfect for a masculine card. Enjoy your day. I'[m trying to make one card before going shoe shopping for the afternoon.

You did what? You put them in their little holes? Just goes to show my hand is not as steady as yours anymore. Love the look. Off to fight the grocery crowd!
