Still Working on the Rebel Challenge Cards!

I made some more cards today for the OWH Rebel Weekend VCMP challenge going on over on the S&S blog this weekend. I've been trying to keep up with 2 separate blog hops this weekend, so I don't know if I'll be able to complete all the cards for the challenges, but I'm trying
This is for challenge#1 that Sherry hosted on her blog Bits of Cheer. She challenged us to use paper piecing on a card for a child. I used a free digi image and sentiment that I d/l from OWH, and paper-pieced it with recollections dsp. I used a SNSS border die, adding kraft colored flowers inside the border. I added a thin strip of red cardstock that I twirled around a crochet hook to look like a streamer. I can only imagine how difficult it is for a parent to miss their child's birthday while they're serving our country so far away from home, so this card will work perfectly for such an occasion.
This is for the ODBD five elements challenge in honor of Cinco de Mayo found  here. Among the five elements I used on this card are ribbon, a die cut (grass), circle punches, mini brads, and a pre-colored image.
Challenge #6 is being hosted by Beth over at BunnyScrap where she's asking us to use a die cut on our card. I shamelessly lifted the idea for this card from a new stamp set I saw recently and managed to use some of those long-forgotten punch-em-out letters I've had for probably close to a decade! I will definitely be making more cards like this for my next OWH box! I used a top note die by Sizzix for the black panel and accented with a white gel pen.
The 7th challenge comes to us from Allison over on Allison'sCreations. She asks us to use the colors blue and grey to make a card. I chose a pre-colored image to save time, adding a scrap of medium blue paper and 2 different dsp's from Echo Park. The image has two sentiments on it (click the photo to enlarge) and I added some spring rain ribbon and mini hydrangea flowers done with a MS punch. I added some very tiny pink gemstones from Pizzazz Aplenty inside those flowers in keeping with the design on the teacup.
Sybrina is hosting the 8th challenge over on her blog Scrapping with Purpose.
Her challenge is to create a patriotic card. Patriotic can mean many things, but I thought of red, white, and blue, and is there anything more American than baseball?! I'm giving you a sneak peak of a brand new Rhubarb image coming soon to SNSS so stay tuned for that! I embossed some stars on the red panels, and finished the card in red, white, & blue to keep it patriotic. The sentiment is from K&K, and I added a snippet of ribbon with a little blue clip just for fun. The white background is embossed with a SU! square lattice ef.

Whew! I've made lots of cards this weekend but it's been fun. I still have a couple more cards to make before this Rebel Weekend VCMP is complete, but hopefully I'll finish them soon!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a great Sunday evening!

Carol

All of your cards are fabulous! I especially like how your blue and gray card turned out...it's a beautiful color combination, isn't it? Not one people use very often though. Yours is so feminine it just goes to show how versatile it can be. Great job!!!
