Pear Pizzazz and Concord Crush

I made this card for the QFTD113 and based it on this card in Mary's gallery. I used SU! Pear Pizzazz and Concord Crush, embossing the SNSS Wildflowers image with white ep and coloring it lightly with Copics. I stamped the sentiment with Concord Crush ink and added a floral gemstone to the center of the flower, and finished it up with some white grosgrain ribbon. While I had those papers on my table, I decided to make another card following Mary's design....

I added an embossed background this time using SU!'s Petals A'Plenty, and dotted the tiny circles with a purple marker. I embossed the image with some purple ep and simply added a dimpled clear gemstone to the center of the flower. I added the ribbon to the circle panel just to switch it up a little bit.

Here they are side by side for comparison. Do you prefer one over the other? I love these 2 colors together and like them both, but I'm really fond of the coloring on top of the white embossing. I'd never seen that done before, but the white just looked too white and needed some contrast, so I matched up some Copic colors and lightly dabbed on some color. I used YG03, YG17, YG93, and BV02.

Here's wishing you a great weekend, and thanks so much for stopping by!

Carol

I just noticed in my comment above, that I gave you a new name...LOL. I think I need to proof read my comments better...smile. Thank you, Carol, (spelled it correctly this time) for the nice comment on my card, and for telling me about the other challenge. Neat cards there.

My Mom fell and I spent today in the emergency room with her too - when it rains.... but we shall win these bear fights and move on (that is what my Dad said today - he is such an inspiration).

I love these cards, Carol. Both are fabulous...I really love that dark paper with the white flower on top....it just pops out there so pretty. Then, again, the dark flower on the lighter bg is awesome, too. Don't ask me to make a decision about which I like best..can't do it. LOL do like the way you used the marker on that embossing folder.
