Merry Monday Challenge 21

Here is this week's sketch for the Merry Monday Challenge #21 to make a Christmas card.

I used a piece of shiny red card stock I've had lying on my table for a while, and added some crumb cake embossed with a snowflake ef. The lacy borders are from a small roll of self-stick paper I bought at the dollar store several years ago. I found a couple rolls I'd forgotten I had while cleaning my craft room recently, and thought of using it for the borders as soon as I saw the sketch! I embossed the oval with a CB ef, adding some "snow" with a picket fence distress marker. The ribbon is from SU! in early espresso, and I added a tiny tag of vintage cream card stock attached with a safety pin, & stamped with the word "Merry" from Inkadinkado. I'm really loving these non-traditional colors for Christmas lately and I think I'll be using them more often!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Carol

Carole, this is gorgeous! I love how you've used the embossing plates and inked them to create the lovely image. And the lacey border is gorgeous! Isn't it fun to find creative and lovely uses for inexpensive finds! Lovely!

Cheers!

Wow Carol, I love that sticky paper. Your whole card is just outstanding. That image is so pretty and peaceful looking and the embossing is just perfect for this card. Love the little sentiment held on with the pin. I, too, am liking the non traditional colors lately. Have a wonderful day.
