Love & a Freshly Made Sketch

I combined the above sketch challenge with the Stars & Stamps mid-week throwdown challenge to create a card with a "love you" theme.

Yesterday, I posted a card with some paper lace borders that I'd forgotten I had. I bought a package of 4 that came from the dollar store on a little roll. The hard cardboard core from the paper border was left over and lying on my table, and I thought it might make a fun background, so I dipped it into my black inkpad and stamped the background for this. Big dots, medium dots, little dots, along with some hearts. I like the combination of texture and design.
The hearts were done with Recollections dsp and cut with a SB heart die. Embossing was done with CB spots, and Sizzix curlique & hearts set. The sentiment was a free d/l from OWH I've had printed forever, so I used a ticket punch to cut it out, and layered it with a black Cricut cut tag, and a red tag cut with my Colluzzle (remember that nifty little tool from long ago?) Ribbon is from SU! and the white heart brad was from my stash.

Were you happy with the American Idol winner last night? I was!! I thought Phillip had some serious talent when I first saw him audition, and apparently I wasn't alone! I love that he remained true to himself throughout the competition and just enjoyed doing what pleased him, in spite of what the "experts" recommended he should do! It's rare and refreshing to see someone remain so humble in the midst of all of the spotlight and media frenzy!

Thanks for checking in today, and have a great Thursday!!

Carol

Even before I saw your card, I knew I would really love it (just from reading about it)...and I do. Dot everywhere and pretty hearts. Super card.

Afraid we never watch American Idol but that sounds like a fine, young man.
