It's Time to be a Card Making Rebel for the OWH VCMP!

Hello and welcome to a virtual cardmaking party for OWH! This weekend is National Scrapbook weekend, but we're being rebels and making cards for our Heroes instead of doing scrapbooks. If you want to join in and get some cards ready to send off to OWH, check the Stars and Stamps blog every 4 hours this weekend for a new and fun challenge!
My challenge for you is to "Use Something You've Been Hoarding." My favorite color is purple, and I've been hanging onto this last piece of Echo Park dsp for some time now, so I decided to just give in and use it :) Another hoarded item is that great piece of mesh I added to this card for a little "beachy" interest. I colored the image with Copics, and paper-pieced the umbrella with matching dsp. The image and sentiment are by SNSS called Ocean Paradise and I die cut it using a SB labels eighteen. The clouds were sponged on using Ranger tumbled glass ink and a hand-made cloud template. I can't help but wish I was sitting in that chair right about now :)

I hope you can set aside some time to play along with our VCM blog hop, and use some of those items you've been hoarding to make cards for our heroes. Just add your creation to the linky tool below so we can all enjoy your cards too! Be sure to check back to the Stars and Stamps blog at 4PM for the next challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and have fun being a rebel :)

Lovely use of your favorite paper, Carol! I think the fact you paper pieced the umbrella really showcased the paper you love so much. Thanks for challenging us to use something we love!

I bet you could find some more of that paper! :) BoBunny also has a great line of polkadots, not sure if they have it in purple or not. But really cute card!

I would hoard that paper too and the mesh! Speaking of which, think I'll go find mine. Love how the shaping of the image makes it POP! Thanks for the inspiration.

I wish that I could say that cutting into my favorite paper doesn't make be break out into a cold sweat and give me palpitations, but it does. Whew, doesn't it feel better when it is all over with? I love purple paper too! I love your umbrella! Thanks for the challenge. I think I will be ok! :)

Hi Carol! Your card is beautiful! That mesh piece is awesome and just adds such a nice touch to your card. Thanks for sponsoring this challenge. I had a lot of fun making my card. I intend to make 5 more cards (duplicates) to use up the whole sheet of paper I've been hoarding!

What a fun challenge. I took quite a while deciding which PP in my hoard to choose. Such is life when you are a paper junkie!
