Inspiration and Sketches

Here is this week's Stars & Stamps sketch challenge #123. I found this one to be very quick and easy.
I made this from the scraps lying on my table. The button was done with a MS punch, and I added some twine to dress it up a little. The background was stamped with Pretty in Pink using the Stitched backgrounder from SU! The sentiment is from Northwoods.
For those of you who checked out the OWH Memorial Day Blog hop that's going on all weekend, Julie gave us this bonus sketch to play with. Julie also provides all the great sketches for the Stars & Stamps challenges each week.
I also discovered a relatively new challenge called {PIN}spirational Challenges, so I combined Julie's bonus sketch with this inspirational photo below from Pinterest for their challenge #8. They're also having a DT call for those of you who might be interested in that.

I noticed that the woman is wearing fishnet stockings, so I used my CHF chicken wire backgrounder - it's the closest thing I have to fishnet :) All those buckles on the boots reminded me of diamonds, so I used my Diamonds in the Rough ef. The sentiment is by Kitchen Sink Stamps, and I layered it on 2 Spellbinders Grommet Tags, adding black ribbon from my stash to resemble the belt in the photo. The card stock is SU! retired Tangerine Tango.

That's going to do it for me today - I hope you're all enjoying a great holiday weekend and thanks so much for stopping by.

Carol, Two great cards. I love them both. I think I really HAVE to have the barbed wire stamp. Time to sit down and get ready for the race. Go tony!

I love the colors on your first card. I've never seen someone make a card using a photo as inspiration and you really did a great job! Her boots totally go with the card.

Great job on both of these Carol! I really like how you cut the embossing folder in the 3 pieces and the way you tied the twine to come out from the back of that button. Two very creative ideas that I think I need to swipe from you :)

Both great takes on the sketches Carol! Took two trips to the store this weekend-both times Rob was singing "Someday"---isn't that a coincidence? Made going to the store a little more enjoyable!

Your hello card is so sweet..love the dotted banner and the little striped piece you stamped on.

The next card is super...who but you would have thought of the chicken wire as a substitute for the fishnet stockings..very clever, Carol.

Hope your holiday was great. It was a beautiful, long weeked here and I enjoyed it so much.
