Two Sketch challenges

Hello everybody! Today I have 2 cards that I've made for sketch challenges. This is the sketch challenge from the Perfect Sentiments Challenge PSC25, which is to use the sketch along with an "uplifting sentiment."

I made this card entirely from scraps sitting on my table! I added a couple different ribbons along with a punched border and a Studio G sentiment that I colored with Marvy markers before stamping. I'm happy with the way this one turned out because purple & green is my favorite color combination :)

Next is this week's OWH Stars & Stamps sketch challenge #115....

...and this is my card for the challenge. I'm trying to add in a few more Dad cards before my next box gets mailed. This can be used for father's day, or just a card for Dad. I try to keep them general like this, so that they can be used year-round, and not just for father's day. I used a glue stick to add the stars to the background, and then ran it through the machine with a houndstooth ef. The sentiment is by AMuse, and the letters that spell "DaD" are cardstock letters that I've had for probably ten years and seldom use. I have oodles of them, so I should start using them instead of letting them collect dust in a box somewhere!
Edit: Thanks to Jennipher for letting me know this card works for the Sentimental Sundays challenge #96 to make a hero card with a sentiment.
That's it for me today, but I thank you for stopping by and wish you a wonderful Sunday!

Carol

Hey Carol, I'm trying to visit blogs and watch the race at the same time. These two cards are so very special. Your first card has just beautiful shades of your two favorite colors. Very, very pretty and delicate. Your second card is the perfect card for any Dad any time of the year. I have some of those letters also and I, too, should pull them out and use them. Enjoy your race, dear.

Hi Carol! I see you made a couple of great looking cards this week! They lied about the sunshine today, but that's ok, it just means more cards for the heroes!

Two beautiful cards! I love both color combos so choosing a favorite is hard but the Dad care is wonderful with that embossed star paper you made. Smart thinking to stick with a sentiment like this too... it could make a great Birthday card for some hero's Dad.

These are both fabulous Carol. You need to enter your hero card into our challenge this week at Sentimental Sundays. It's a perfect fit. I love your interpretation of the sketch from Perfect Sentiments. I used purple and green together for the first time this week and WOW I love it.

I love how you showed two different cards with the layout! The first card is so pretty with the lavendar and celery color combo. The embossing is perfect with the pretty ribbons. The second card is a great card all the way around. Love the patriotic feel which works for any "dad" type card. The embossing on the paper and the ribbon are all perfect touches! Love them both.
