Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #102

This is my 2nd post today, wow! I'm on a roll :) Here is the sketch for the Stars and Stamps challenge #102 and here is my card........
I dug into my stash of unloved dp and used some coordinating papers from PTI. The stamp sentiment and circle design are stamps from JustRite that have been hiding in a drawer and not finding much love either. I have been making a real effort to use the supplies I have first before buying so many new items. I know I will still buy that embossing folder I just have to have, or one of those new release dies that look so fabulous, but I was proud of myself, because I didn't even walk down the paper aisle at the craft store today - I completely skipped it! That was a biggie for me :)
Anyway, back to the card. I used PTI vintage cream and SU! chocolate chip, adding a few tiny hearts made with the SU! owl punch. It just needed something extra and I like the way they look. The sentiment was stamped with chocolate chip ink and I used 2 circle punches along with a Spellbinders die for the largest circle. I like this easy sketch so much that I might make a few more in different colors!
Thanks for hanging out with me for a little while, and I wish you all a great week ahead!

Carol

Beautiful card Carol, and cream and brown always looks elegant. Good girl for not giving in to buying new stuff. hehehe. But... it's sooooo hard to fight the temptation isn't it?

Hi Carol, It's nice to see two postings from you in one day. You know, I have to say I would not think that your b/g paper is one that I would run to use either, but it really does look great on this card. The PTI paper is so very pretty. Cream and Brown is such a beautiful combo. Love the little hearts. This is a terrific card for our heroes and they will probably get more than one from me using this sketch. Have a good night.

This turned out super Carol! I think there are a lot of OWHers (myself included) who have enough of a stash to last a good, long while if we wanted too. I'm resolving to make creating (instead of shopping for supplies) a goal for 2012 too!

Love! Love! Love! A+ on getting it done without a trip to the craft store. I'm trying to behave too and it's amazing the things I'm finding hidden in my craft room!

This is so elegant with simplicity. I LOVE it!!!

LOL! I told myself that I need to use what's in my craft room without buying unless it's adhesive. I'd love to make it 3 months but you already enticed me with some heart embossing folders. LOL!

Your card is so pretty! I really like the paper you chose for the stripes and how it stands out next to the background paper. The flourish stamp around the sentiment is just gorgeous. I too know how hard it is NOT to buy just one more... when I go to the craft store but I'm getting better. I have so much now that I'm not using that I'm trying to discipline myself to just use what I have and come up with new ways of putting it all together.

LOL I understand your pride at staying out of the paper aisle! This sure looks loved now. It's a beautiful card. Love how you popped the sentiment. The three hearts are just right.
