I've Been Using Scraps

I recently received a copy of the Paper Crafts Holiday Cards magazine that I was extremely fortunate to have won on the Moxie Fab blog during World Card Making Day, and I've hardly put it down since it arrived! I found a card that I immediately wanted to CASE, and this is that design by Windy Robinson. I love using kraft as a base, and what a great way to use up those tiny bits of scraps! For this card, I used a current dp (holiday bouquet maybe?) from SU! and a sentiment from G Studio. I added faux stitching with a red marker, and popped up the stars with dimensionals.
For this card, I used some retired dp from SU! along with chocolate chip, rose red, and olive green. Instead of the faux stitches, I added some gold nailhead stickers.
And for this card, I used PTI soft stone card stock, and I cut up a panel of the herringbone technique I'd done with retired Basic Grey dp to get the squares. I added some gold dew drops (remember them?) to the centers of the stars. This one might just be my favorite! For all the cards I used 1-1/2" squares and a small star punch.
Just when I'd normally be ready to pack away all the Christmas stamps for next year, I think I'll be making more in the near future for next year. This magazine has been so inspiring and has filled me with new ideas!
Wishing you all a wonderful and creative week, and thanks for stopping by!

Carol

Carol, these are all very pretty, but I think I agree with your choice. The third one really speaks to me. I love those dew drops and your herringbone is just beautiful. Thanks for sharing this idea with us.

These are really pretty! You could use this same design for 4th of July, or baby cards, or kids birthday cards, and use up even more of your scraps lol!

Girl, these are fabulous. I think I need that magazine. Sounds as if there are some great ideas in there. Yep, I remember the dew drops and still have them in my stash, along with who knows what else. Great cards, Carol!
