Christmas and Hydrangeas

I posted these cards over on SCS today and forgot to post them on my blog! LOL I made this for the QFTD78 challenge, and this week it's Dianne/eured99. I used this card of Dianne's for inspiration to create mine. You can see that I added a lot more to my card than her simple one, but this usually happens when I make a card! I used the snow swirled stamp set from SU! and embossed everything with gold. I edged the white layers with a gold paint pen, and the rest is pretty easy to figure out.
The Friday Free4All over on SCS today was to make a card using "mostly blue." I used this gorgeous free digi I d/l from tidbitstrinkets and colored it with Copics. A piece of green dp and some not quite navy cardstock and a computer generated sentiment was all this card needed.
I caught a story on tv recently where Madonna made a rude remark about loathing hydrangeas after someone had just given her a bouquet of them, so I decided to make this card because I love hydrangeas! My grandfather used to grow them in his yard, and I marveled over his beautiful "giant blue snowballs" as I used to think they were! LOL I'll always have those fond memories of his gorgeous hydrangeas and I'd be beyond grateful if someone gave me a bouquet of them!! Really!!
Here's wishing you all a happy weekend :)

Both cards are STUNNING, Carol. Goodness I love all the white with the touches of gold and pops of red. And those hydrangeas are gorgeous. My dad used to grow them in our back yard. I too loved those giant flowers!

Carol, Two gorgeous cards. I love that stamp SU set and use it quite often. You card is stunning with the ribbons and sentiment, dots, and die shape. Just perfect.
Your hydrangea card is just exquisite. (oh good scrabble word) Your coloring is perfect. I'm with you on the Hydrangeas. I LOVE them. I have white ones in my garden and they just stand out so beautiful against everything else. Isn't it nice to have such wonderful memories of loved ones? We are very lucky, you and I, to be able to have such priceless memories.
