We made it!

We made it through hurricane Irene and although Saturday night was very stressful, we're fine. The tornado warnings went on long into the night, so I never went to bed or tried to sleep. We have minimal damage and no flooding, so we consider ourselves extremely fortunate! I'm hoping for a better week ahead. An earthquake, a hurricane, and tornadoes touching down in one week is extremely difficult to imagine, but it happened, and I'm glad it's behind us now! I think mother nature might be a little ticked!
On to my cards. First up is my entry for the Sweet Stop SSS123 sketch challenge found here. I used this cute Cocoa mouse image and colored it with Copics, and fussy cut it out. Oops! I accidentally snipped off the curly end of his tiny tail..........ouch!! I used some BG dp from the Jovial pack, and some red and green scraps from my stash. The sentiment is a sticker, and I added some yellow stickles to the star, and some liquid applique to the fur on his stocking.
This is my take on the OWH Stars and Stamps sketch challenge #83 found here. I used this adorable Sarah Kay image, and colored her with Copics in shades of purple and green. I added some PTI green leaf and plum pudding card stock for the mats, and some matching green leaf polka dot ribbon. The embossed panel was done with the SU! square lattice ef. I left the sentiment off because this can be used for many different occasions.
I haven't spent a lot of time on the computer lately so I have a lot of catching up to do. I hope your Monday is a great one for you, and thanks so much for stopping by :)

Carol, so glad you're all o.k. and minimal damage. I know how scary that was just from living through so many tornadoes. I've had several of those sleepless nights myself.

Both your cards are super. Love the use of liquid applique on your stocking. Just an adorable card.

Your next card is yummy...loving how you used that pretty ribbon.

Both cards are so adorable! Love your coloring on both!
Happy to hear you made it thru the storm! It was pretty scary when I seen the tornado warning go up but all was well here in Wrightsville. We lost power for most of Sunday but all in all we were lucky!
Happy Monday, Carol! :)

Well, you're still pretty stinkin' creative even through all that pesky Mother Nature has thrown your way!

Glad to hear you're a-okay. We fared okay, too. Nothing but an inconvenience....power was out for ten hours. So many more with bigger issues, so I can't really complain. :)

Saw these beauties as I was swishing by and finally have time to sit and comment. You know I love Cocoa, and I will be wishing I had been making Christmas cards long about Thanksgiving. As for the Sara Kay image, she is just too sweet, and colored beautifully as always. Jim got the bits of limbs and debris picked up last night, all that is left to do is trim my butterfly bush, as it just shreaded its limbs. So glad we both didn't have major damage. I do agree though, It will take the rest of the week to catch up on sleep and release the tension from the tornado warnings! I feel exhausted!

So glad that you got through last week's incredible events with minimal damage. We had such a beautiful weekend here on the West coast. Have to say that I was feeling quite guilty, but prayers were certainly being said for all of you there.
Your cards are wonderful, Carol. Love that fun Christmas creation. And the girl and her kitty is such a sweet image.
