Ivory and Lace

Here's my take on the Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge #57 which is to create a card using ivory and lace. I wish the photograph showed more sponging detail because the entire piece is sponged with alabaster chalk ink, and IRL it adds a beautiful, soft contrast. I scored the background on my Scor-Pal and sponged all over. I also used a beaded oval, and the petite ovals dies, along with the stem die from SU!. I crocheted 2 flowers using embroidery thread, and added a strip of crocheted lace. The final touch was adding a few Kaiser champagne pearls. The sentiment was stamped with Vintage Photo ink. I think it's always good to keep a few sympathy cards on hand so you don't have to scramble to create one when they're needed.
Thanks for stopping by today, and make it a great day!

Carol, this is gorgeous. When you enlarge the photo you can see more of your sponging. WOW-You crochet also. A women of many, many talents. I love the all white and vory with just the little hint of color in the sentiment. Funny, last night I also made a card using my score pal. Well, off to work today (long story short, I'm filling in for the manager of the doctor's office that I used to work at while she is on vacation). He is a wonderful person to work for so I am happy to do it, but it does cut into my card making time. Have a great day.

So you crochet, too?!!! I knew there was a reason why I didn't like you. HA HA HA. Kidding, kidding!

Your card is stunning, and I love it.

I'm giggling to myself though, because it would appear we both used the same spellbinders die today....yours for an elegant classy card and mine for a snarky card. Ha ha.

And oh, I laughed at your comment on my blog. *snicker*
