Two Saturday Challenges

I made this card for Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #43 found here. Joanne challenges us this week to use black, white and one other color, along with piercing on our cards. Check, check, check, and check! I used the Cuttlebug leafy branch embossing folder for the background, and used Gable Green cardstock for my pop of color. The sentiment is from the Thankful Pumpkins & Mums set by MFP. I used the labels ten die and created a twisted ribbon rose for an accent. I snipped some matching polka dot ribbon for "leaves" and added a big honkin' button to the center :) The button might be too big for this card, but it was the only black button I could find! LOL
Next up is my card for the Sweet Stop Sketch #96 found here. I really like this sketch and I'll be using it often!
For my card I used the Sweet 'n Sassy digi image called Lilacs for Cocoa. I colored him with Copics and used all Basic Grey Kioshi papers. I created the flower accents by using the Martha Stewart Hydrangea punches (the large single flower, along with the medium & small combination) and punched some pink, green and purple vellum. I added some light lavender color to the pink flowers with a Copic, then layered them and added stickles to the centers. I also added lavender stickles to the flowers on the image. Since the spin on this week's sketch challenge is a think spring theme, I added the Mother's Day sentiment by G studio, and I colored it with Marvy markers before stamping. I layered it with a diecut from the Spellbinder Lotus set.
That's it for me today. Here's wishing you a wonderful weekend, and thanks so much for stopping by. They'll fire 'em up in Daytona tomorrow - the first official Sprint Cup NASCAR race of the year, and I'm SO ready for that! For all my fellow NASCAR fans out there - enjoy!!! I know I'll be tuned in!!!
