A Double Challenge Rolled into One

I'm having fun stamping today since it snowed overnight and I won't be going anywhere just yet. I combined 2 challenges to create this card. First up is the JoansGardens challenge#1 for 2011 found here, which is to include the following elements to the card:
1. Use some kind of animal, bird, or whatever
2. Use a floral background paper
3. Do something that takes you out of your comfort zone
4. Use some kind of die
Next up is the SCS315 sketch challenge found here.
I used some pretty papers that were gifted to me recently called Mirabelle by the Paper Studio. The Cocoa Mouse digi image is by Sweet'nSassy and was colored with Copics and sponged with Memento desert sand ink. I used the Labels four die for the main image, and hand cut the moss green mat underneath. I used 2 flowers with a small button for an accent, and the part of this card that takes me out of my comfort zone is the stick pin! I love the way they look, but I never use them because I'm always afraid of someone getting poked with one of them! I have the sharp end of this pin buried and glued into a flower petal, so hopefully no accidents will happen! For a final touch, I added some glossy accents to the cherries on top of the candy.
I wish you all a happy Wednesday and I so appreciate your dropping in for a little visit to my world today.

You and I must think alike on some of this stuff. I put in a pearl head pin and then worry someone will get poked. Cute candy card. Yum Yum.

So cute, Carol! I am beginning to notice Cocoa is always surrounded by some wonderful sweet treats. LOL
Your floral paper is just divine and I like the stick pin. Sounds as if you have it safely tucked in so no one gets a prick.
