Howlin' and Sending Mail

This is the first of two cards I made for challenges today. This is for Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge #15, which is to create your own embellishments. I made the sconces you see hanging on the sides of the window, along with the candles and flames. I just love this Southwest Cowboy stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers, and it makes the greatest cards for outdoor-type guys! After looking at the finished card, it looks more like the wolf is howling at the sun! LOL Ah well, I'll try this with different colors next time :)
Next up is the QFTD21 challenge which honors Irene aka DandI93 over on SCS. Her gallery is so much fun to browse through, and I chose this card to CASE. I really changed things up from her original card, but this free digi image from SliekjeStamps was a wee bit too big to add a separate sentiment panel. The image pretty much speaks for itself with the mailbox and letter in the cute pup's mouth! I used Kioshi papers from BG along with some Soft Sky and dark green scraps. I made the tiny faux brads and added a swirl cut with a sizzix die and a clip with some soft sky ribbon.
I'm off to a birthday party later this afternoon and it's a gorgeous day here in PA, so I'm going to soak up a little sun! Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Carol

Carol, you are so resourceful. I had to go and get that very cute digi before I could even write my comments to you. It is just adorable and your card really shows it off. And how perfect for OWH! And like you, every time I see that Kioshi I am reminded how much I really like it. Thanks for bringing cheer to my day. Blessings
