Roses for Mom

I was playing around with my Manhattan Flower embossed image after reading this post on Patty Bennett's blog "Pattys Stamping Spot." I started by embosssing a piece of pink metallic cardstock with the roses. {Thanks Heidi, I still have a couple pieces of that gorgeous cardstock left} I sponged the NEGATIVE side of the rose image with regal rose and rose red instead of brayering them with 3 colors, but I was happy with the look. I have a brayer but I hate to use it??? LOL After cutting the image out, I matted it with some gorgeous satiny dsp from SU! called Rockabilly. I tilted the card to photograph it so you could see the shiny stripes and how fancy the paper is. I had no intentions of using black on a Mother's day card, but once I got the roses colored and chose Garden Green cardstock for the leaves, I knew black was the only color that would work to make this floral image pop. The sentiment panel & bottlecap mat were diecut with my Quickutz and stamped with $1 stamps. I added some ivory taffeta ribbon and a little clip to adhere it to the card. It's all on a 5x51/2" square base of Rose Red. The leaf branch was made with a sizzlet diecut, and the single leaves were made by folding a piece of cardstock, punching with oval punches on the fold, and run through a crimper.
I think this wraps up all the Mother's day cards I needed to make..........unless I get some last minute orders from procrastinators :)
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by again.........we love having you :)
